These one and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom townhouses will become available for residential living. They’re currently designated as open for purchase in early 2019.

Scope of work:

Supply and installation of floor covering – including underlay, carpet, carpet tiles

Floor preparation – ramping and flooding

Making the site clean and safe

Installation of entry mats

Installation of rubber for gymnasium

The Process

Our main objective for the Commonwealth Games flooring installation project was to ensure that all the aspects of the floor coverings were dealt with in a timely and professional manner. This included:

  1. Delivery of the floor coverings specific to site measurements.
  2. The cutting and installation of the carpet as well as the underlay.
  3. The installation of the rubber for the gym areas as well as the carpet tiles.
  4. Maintaining consistent flow of works from organising the manufacturing of the carpet and deliveries through to coordinating the floor layers.
  5. Installation of plastic protection to the rooms to protect from any other trades that may have been on site.
  6. Floor preparation in areas where the floor wasn’t level, including grinding, ramping and flooding of the affected areas.
  7. Installation of the entry mats and frames to the towers.
  8. Working with other trades to make sure that installation flowed smoothly and that all deadlines were meet for the handover of this project.

The Outcome

Having completed the Commonwealth Games flooring installation as well as several additional tasks that were not included in the initial scope of works.

All tasks within the contractual timeframe and to Australian standards—the builder was rapt with the quality and timeliness of our project completion. Additional tasks included filling the gaps around all fire doors and lifts after flooding the floors to confirm the levelness of the flooring, as well as installing the carpet in the lifts.
